1. Written by mnorwood on June 16, 2011 AGI was my mom and dad's life insurance policy for 20+ years. Payments were near 500 a month. When my mom died in 2007 they said the policy payments were based on her age at 79. She was 82. A deal to subtract the difference in premium payments was implemented on so that only 17,000 was paid out on a 25,000 policy. The premiums were auto pay draft. We found out soon after her death that my dad had lung cancer. Later, we were notified that a loan was taken on my dad's 150,000 policy which would create a deficiency in the policy if an adjustment was not made. We requested that the drafts be increased so as to not cause a lapse. The auto drafts increased. Problem solved? Not a chance. In 2009, they sent us a letter saying that because of policy deficiency they CANCELLED his policy. When we tried to straighten up the situation, they wanted him to fill out a NEW APPLICATION for review (he was being treated for lung cancer NOW). My dad, now with no insurance, died before we resolved our complaint. AGI is as crooked as crooked a company could be. I think all of us who lost death benefits from this unethical company should FILE a LAWSUIT. I am only NOW recovering from their deaths and wanting justice. |

I feel your pain. I buried my aunt in March this year. I am dealling with an unscrupulous funeral home with whom she had prepaid a funeral over ten years ago, with Am Gen life ins. included in the preneed services. The policy has been paid in full for nearly ten years. She sacrificed a lot to pay her premiums on time, and now I cannot get any straight answers from either one of them, especially since the funeral home owe me the balance left over. It is a shame that after all my family has already been through these people continue to cause pain. I wish there was someway to get justice. |

they did the same thing to us we paid for 20 years and we had a 75, 000 policy we borrowed $5000. from our cash we had in this policy they reduced our policy to $6900 and raised the premium so we could not afford it it was supose to be the same for life this also happen last year in Feb and they took for ever to call me when I called them. I could get no where and could not afford the raise from 78 a month to 200 a month my husband is 72 now and we have no insurance. When they sold us this they said if we payed more than the policy they would put this in a savings for 8 per cent so we would have a savings. I think about this every night what they have done to us. I wished we could file a lawsuit class action as they dod this to so many people |
