American Equity Mortgage AJ Mangonis American Equity's Bad Business Practices Internet |
25th of Jan, 2011 by |
On 01/26/2011 I was contacted by American Equity employee Joseph (AJ) Mangonis from the Cary NC store regarding a recent mortgage inquiry. I informed him I was already in the process of re-financing my home with Quicken Loans. He began to belittle Quicken Loans and I told him that Quicken had an A+ rating at the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Mangonis told me that businesses pay the BBB for good ratings on their site and when I asked him not to further contact me he said in a rude tone, "Well you just have a good day then". Furthermore, he subsequently sent me an email with a link to Ripoffreport.com with information demeaning Quicken Loans. Must be really tough out there for a business to include rude statements and business practices and demean other companies verbally and in writing doing business with the public.

I am sorry this customer felt this way. I tried to let him know we are a local lender right here in North Carolina and I would be able to give him more personalized service. And nine times out of ten our rates are lower then the competition. I just wanted to ensure the customer was getting the best loan scenario for him and his family. |

Ted:
I’d like to take a moment to let you know about one of your employees, AJ.
A few months back, I was interested in refinancing and merging my primary and secondary mortgage. AJ worked in a professional and consultative manner with me to find the right solution. He is diligent, courteous, and personable.
I’ve had many mortgage experiences in my life and found those experiences to be impersonal, leaving me feeling like I’m a number, not a neighbor. AJ asked and listened to my goals and needs, then searched for the right solution based on my needs; very refreshing!
Due to no fault of his own, my husband and I decided not to move forward with the loan. (house didn’t appraise for what we needed).
During this time, we experienced a death in the family and my intense travel schedule restarted. I was unable to communicate our decision back to AJ in a timely fashion. His follow-up was fantastic, however, mine was not.
I’m writing you on a beautiful Saturday afternoon to let you know what a great employee you have in AJ. If we are ever in the need of a mortgage in the future, AJ and American Equity Mortgage will be the only lender we call.
Thank you.
