Amazon.com Amazon, Amazon Marketplace, and it's vendor |

On May 31st I purchased two textbooks from Amazon.com with a 3 to 5 business day delivery for a couple of college courses that went from the 6th of June until July 8th. After my credit card was charged for the books it was revealed to me it was from vendors doing business on Amazon and it could take up to 21 days for delivery! I paid for the 3-5 day shipping with tracking not for 21 days so be warned about that when buying from Amazon Marketplace, you could wait a month and your course be over before you receive your text. Amazon doesnt disclose the 21 day thing until after your card has been charged. Even if you pay for overnight the vendors have 21 days. One of the text arrived from DHL in 4 days in perfect condition except is was not intended to be distributed or sold in the USA. It is a copyright violation and it is stamped on the text. That vendor from Amazon agreed to take book back for a full refund, no problem. Was a mistake. The second text never came at all. That was 30 days ago and it took forever to file a claim that Amazon will not begin to look at until the day my course ends! Amazon will not allow me to publish a review of services either so I came here. The vendor claims he used the US mail but has no tracking ID, has not filed a tracer of lost mail, refuses to send mailing information so I can file a tracer, and refuses to refund my money! When I ask for those things the vendor either ignores the request, says "out of my hands", or lectures me on being rude in e-mails. I had earned a scholarship for being on the Dean's List that I lost by earning a C in the course that the book was in. I flunked the first exam due to not having a text to study because my book money was tied up with Amazon and I had to wait until pay day to buy another text. There is nothing I can do in the final week of the course to bring the overall grade up over a C even though once I got a text everything has been an A grade. I lost $800 in scholarship money next semester by using Amazon, lost the cost of the text I bought through the company, and that course is in my major so the grade could mean lost income because grad are hired by GPA both overall and in major! Just buy from your college bookstore or better yet who has free express shipping with tracking at the same or lower rates. |
