After becoming a victim of this business, I paid an investigator to look into things. My investigator has found the following so far: Joseph Michael Phillips last did prison time at Hudson Correctional Facility in New York, after pleading guilty to 2 counts of dealing crack cocaine and receiving a 30-90 month sentence. In addition to the drug charges, Phillips was also arrested during the same time period for threatening to burn down his ex-wife's house with her in it. He was paroled in 2004. After prison, Joe started back into his life as a career criminal. He passed tons of bad checks, and collected money for contracting jobs that he never performed. He was arrested on Grand Larceny charges several times. In Texas that would be Felony Theft. Then he met Amy Waldron, girlfriend of fellow convicted crack dealer Jon Pauline. The two hit it off, and soon Amy had left Pauline for Joe Phillips. But Jon Pauline wasn't liking this. He and Amy had an infany son together, named by his father, Yahya Abdul Karim Akbar Pauline. Whether it was because of Jon Pauline, or because there were a lot of bad checks out there, Joe and Amy decided to relocate to Texas last year. Since arriving here, Joe has three arrests so far, for Identity Theft (using someone's SS# to open a bank account); Felon In Possession Of A Firearm; and Felony Criminal Mischief. There are several known and recent cases in which Amazing Auto and specifically Joe Phillips, took possession of vehicles under the guise of repairing them or buying them. In each case, the vehicles have never been returned or repaired. In some cases, victims paid thousands of dollars for repairs, and still have not got them back. I have the names and contact information for each of them. There are more cases out there. If you are a victim, you should post here. There are several known and recent cases in which Amazing Auto and specifically Joe Phillips, hired employees for his shop and kept them around for two weeks, then fired them without pay on payday. I also have the names and contact information for each of them. There are more cases out there. If you are a victim, you should post here. There are also many cases involving thousands of dollars in worthless or forged checks on closed accounts. I also have the names and contact information for each of them. My question is addressed to the Harris County District Attorney and Pasadena Police Department: Why is this person still doing business, why is he not in jail? |
