Alpha Card Services Be sure you read the fine print! Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania |

Our not-for-profit company sells our product only once a year at a convention, and we had hoped to find a credit card processing company that did not require a long term contract. At the time we were looking, the home page of Alpha Card Services seemed to promise exactly that. I told them at the beginning about our unique needs and after somewhat lengthy paperwork we were on-board. The processing and machine itself worked fine, after we sorted out some glitches that were primarily due to our inexperience with the process, as we had never done this before. We returned the machine and notified them of our intent to cancel within one month. Too bad. They are continuing to send us bills which apparently last a full year. Nothing we discussed on the phone is a matter of record, and they deny everything. So, yes, it was my fault for not getting something specific in writing. I would NOT believe anything they tell you over the phone. They are on solid ground legally as the small print does state a 12 month contract. My bad for not reading every word. My advice is: BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU ELECT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. |

If I knew the merchant or person writing this post we could offer a true rebuttal. Due to the anonymous nature of this post I can only post in generalities. It seems this person is referring to our free terminal placement program. We send a brand new terminal that cost over 400.00 dollars, to our merchants to use while they are processing with us. One of the stipulations is to process for a term of 3 years.
the best example I can give is a free cellular phone someone would receive from any of the cellular companies, they come with a 2 year contract.
This merchant would have signed 3 separate agreements, all of which state clearly there is a term. They would also be required to initial on other pages within the agreement directly next to or below the term of the agreement.
I am deeply sorry they had such a bad experience, but our terms and conditions are clearly stated on every document we give and have our customers sign. We are not in the practice of hiding anything and have the term of the agreement clearly stated several times. Our underwriters also confirm all rates, fees and terms prior to approval. So any merchant physically signs next to the term, our underwriters verbally make them aware prior to approval, and we follow up with sending the terms and conditions via ups to the merchants.
