Allegro Vacation Plan Occidental Vacation Plan, not delivering what they promised San Diego, California |

Last year in Nov/2009 I took a 3-week trip to the Flamenco Hotel in Punta Cana,D.R. The first week I was there I was persuaded to go to a meeting with the Occidental Vacation Plan supervised by a Mr. Guzman. I was told at this gathering that they had a wonderful vacation plan that I should know about. Among the things I was told, while being plied with drinks, was that they had resorts all over the world where I could go each year at a cost of $185.00/weeki. I could have my choice of free golf if I paid for my meals, a "luxury" suite; they would make all the flying arrangements for me so I wouldn't be saddled with the commission of a regular travel service, etc. The cost to me would be $10,000 & the rest would be paid on a monthly basis o9ver a period of 5 years.
They didn't tell me that the plan was good for Punta Cana only. Anyway I decided to go to Punta Cana for one month, & emailed them to male the arrangements. The cost they quoted me for 28 days was $1830, which means I would be paying $65/day, the same as I paid last year without their plan instead of the $185/week. I would still have to pay for my golf to the tune of $1000/week. I would be staying in a "junior" hotel room, not the luxury accomodations they promised, & I would have to make all the travelling arrangements mysef.
I paid them $1800 down, & have been paying $230/month ever since, which comes to about $3000.00 + total.
I called my credit card company to have my # changed so they will not be able to collect any more monthly payments. They have threatened me with collection agencies & the like, but I would rather go to jail than send them one more cent. In fact I am seeing my lawyer to sue them for the money I have already paid into the plan. I have the emails to back up every word I have said here. I have asked them for a copy of my contract, but they refuse to send me one. The names of the people involved in the emails are Jose Mateo, Christian Lied & Alicia Gutierrez. I wrote to the Occidental Company to try & get some explanation from Mr. Guzman, but he did not respond.
That is all I have to say for now. |

Timeshare scams are HUGE problem in Mexico. We purchased a Royal Elite Timeshare last year. We were promised all kinds of opportunity, while they kept serving us cold Coronas. Between HSI, RCI, and Royal Elite it seems that this is all a scam. We initially made three payments of $800, and now after Royal Elite has made a mistake with their collections back in the end of 2008, Monterey Financial has been threatening to send me to court to recover the unpaid portion ever since. Royal Elite is almost impossible to contact. This has become a huge pain, and a troubling financial burden. These are more complaints made on the Royal Elite timeshare resorts:

We will not go down without a fight. We are working now with PROFECO and will continue to haunt them |
