ALAMO DO NOT RENT LIST - DOUBLE DIP ALCOA, Tennessee |
3rd of Dec, 2011 by User662269 |
I had to unexpectedly go to Tennessee ( from California) for the unexpected death of my father in Feb 2011. I booked a package that included airfare and a rental vehicle. I provided all of my identifying information and drivers license info, etc. The reservation was accepted, the money was accepted with no problem. When we arrive in Tennessee, we get to the Alamo office and am told that I am on a do not rent list ( they have no idea why, Enterprise placed it). So I am not able to switch drivers and allow my boyfriend to be the driver on this vehicle I already paid for in my package. Instead, the only option we are given is that my boyfriend can rent it and has to pay another $249.95 so that we were not stranded on the other side of the country. Since we have no other way around, and we are exhausted from the flight this is what we have to do. I am given an 800 number to call enterprise who can give me limited info about why it was placed. They said if had to do with a rental several years ago ( of which I was never told of this issue, to even know there was one!). The only thing I ever did with enterprise was use a rental car while my vehicle was repaired which my auto insurance paid for. So there should be no issue. So can someone please tell me how Alamo can get paid twice for one rental car? I tried to call Alamo and they say its my travel agents problem. My travel agent says they took the money and accepted the reservationand I have to take it up with them. They should have never accepted the reservation if I truly am on some do no rent list. They had all the info they needed to know if I was at the time I made the reservation so they have frauded me twice. I lost my father and had to take a loan out just to go down there to say my last goodbye to my father and help with his affairs. Alamo just added insult to injury, and continue to kick me while I am down as no one will help me with this issue. |
