New Orleans, La. 70113 Re: Complaint against Aerial Contracting, LLC (Mike Bruno, Owner) Dear Sir/Madam: Our home located at in Hammond, La., received roof damage due to a hail storm that occurred in the area. In March 2011, we entered an Insurance Recovery Agreement/Contract with Aerial Contracting, LLC (Michael Bruno, Owner). The agreement subject to insurance approval states the following: 1. Remove and replace existing roof. 2. All new roof hardware, then paint to match. 3. Replace any bad decking. 4. 5 Year Workmanship Warranty 5. Cobra III Ridge Vents As well, it lists details of roof as follows: Grade of Shingle – 35 Year Atlas roof with Dimensional Pinn., Cobra III Ridge Material in the color Weathered Wood (Dark Shadow). Once we received approval from our homeowner’s insurance, we
signed the last and final agreement with Aerial. This agreement reflects the same details as listed above. Our grievances with Aerial Contracting LLC and Michael Bruno are detailed below. We feel Aerial Contracting, LLC and Michael Bruno not only provided very poor work quality but are also in Breach of Contract and reflect the possibility of fraudulent practices. 1. Our color choice per contract clearly states Weatherwood/Dark Shadow, a Brownish color. Arriving home after dark the day the roofing began, we were not able to tell the color of the roof. The next day we realized a gray roof called Hearthstone had been installed. 2. All new roof hardware was to be installed and then painted to match. Aerial did not install new hardware at all. They only painted over the existing hardware. 3. Many months later after entering my attic, a very critical wrongdoing on Aerial’s part was discovered. Every one of my ridge vent openings were covered in felt paper. As advised by more than one roofing professional, ridge vents are to be cut out, thereby providing ventilation. While the lack of ventilation causes many obvious issues such as severe heat conditions in the attic, the most serious issue is that it cut’s the life of the roof in half, thereby, voiding our roof’s warranty. 4. All of my gutters were destroyed, despite my communication to the roofers to take extra care not to damage them. 5. The check from our insurance company was deposited directly into Aerial’s checking account. After communicating my concerns to Mr. Bruno regarding this practice, he assured us that is was very usual practice with no need for concern. It was at a later date that we saw the scope of materials and labor that our insurance company paid for in the check.
The scope includes thousands of dollars worth of work that was never listed, nor performed by Aerial, yet those amounts were never refunded to us so we could have the work performed elsewhere. We are sending a copy of this letter to our insurance company, so they may investigate accordingly. We’ve tried to resolve this situation, by making many attempts to Aerial Contracting, LLC and Michael Bruno via the phone, U.S. Postal Service and Certified/Registered mail, to no avail. The only communication, we have received are text messages from them. I have saved these texts, in which Michael Bruno states that he is wrong and will rectify the situation. After that, being completely disregarded and ignored, we have contracted the services of a professional investigation firm. Our current status is seeking advice from an arbitrations attorney. We would like to have our roof inspected by a professional roofing company and repaired/replaced accordingly. This will also include all new gutters to be installed. Finally, we will have all monies for services not rendered to us, by Aerial Contracting, LLC. refunded to us in full. All documentation listed is available at your request. As well, if you have any questions regarding this letter, please do not hesitate to contact me this letter was sent to the BBB. Michael Bruno had his attorney reply with the letter with nothing but lies. saying my roof was inspected and in perfect condition.My roof is in the same condition and left untouched fgor anyone of his low down lawyers to see, Remember,I have every letter,email,text,and contract along with photos to back up everything.
