Advanced Media Publications, LLC Took our $500 for ad, then stalled for months on publishing magazine, nonexistent customer service Delray Beach, Flo |

In August of 2010, our company was approached by Advanced Media Publications to advertise in their Golf and Leisure magazine. We agreeed to an ad for $500. We were told by the salesman that our money was needed ASAP because the magazine would go to print in October. Not being familiar with the company, we opted to send two separate checks instead of giving them our credit card number. After the money was sent and the ad was approved, we did not hear from them for almost the entire month of October.
When we contacted them in October, we were informed that our salesman was no longer with the company and the magazine would come out "in a few weeks." Our new contact there never returned any phone messages we left. We spoke with the creative director, who toldus the magazine would go to print the week after Thanksgiving. Then the date was pushed back to December, then January, then mid-Jauary, and so on. Every time we hear the same thing, "it's going to be great, we're waiting on a few more ads, the bookhas gone to the printer"...
There was no customer representative reaching out to us. If we had a question, we would have to track this company down to get any answers, and we were always getting the run-around. Many messages were left before anyone would return a call. We were finally able to reach the company's owner, Charles O'Reilly. He assured us that the magazine would come out and offered to increase our ad size. At this point, we started to realize that this entire company is one big scam and we were probably going to lose our entireinvestment.
We contacted the local BBB, as well as the localSheriff's Dept and the state Attorney General. When a localSheriff visited the company, at first no one would answer the door, even though it was obvious people were inside. The owner then spoketo the Sheriff and told him he would refund our money. Over a week later,we still have not received a check, and I doubt weever will.
This company is full of rude people that provide ZERO customer service. Once they have your money, you will not hear from them. If you needinformation, expect to leave several messages until maybe someone will call you back. I would advise against advertising with this company, especially if you are out of state. We were lucky enough to find a Sheriff that would help us out, and I think he's the only reason wearesupposedly receiving a refund from Advanced Media Publications.
Lastly, when I contacted Charles to see when the check was sent, he had the nerve to insinuate that our company was trying to take advantage of them! Even if we do receive a refund, we will continue our efforts to file official complaintswith various agencies in Florida so no other business has to deal with what we have dealt with.

Unfortunately some customers are not as easily satisfied as others. Even when the company providing the services goes above and beyond to correct the situation and or any concerns that the customer may have. The internet is a powerful tool that can be used as a weapon in this day and age. Especially when someones out to character assassinate something or someone. The customer in this case charged back their credit card and received a full refund. Then stated that they were unable to get a refund. However Advanced Media Publications sent a check for the full amount to the customer and was cashed by the customer only to find out that the credit card company had issued the refund weeks prior. The customer having full knowledge of this still accepted a refund that was not due to them whatsoever. |

I came to this site to report another company and saw this post under Recently Updated Reports...
My company uses Advanced Media Publications semi-annually to advertise our company. During the fall, the book that was due to be printed was delayed. Their customer service representative apologized and assured that the book would be published as soon as it could and offered us an up-grade. The book was published and our ad was exactly the way that their graphic designer and I discussed. As a business owner myself, I understand that unexpected things may occur. My company has and will continue to use Advanced Media Publications. |

Not believing that your response for media Pub. is really real. Probably a so-called employee of this C. O' Reilly/Tom Moorhead all along. It's most likely you, Holly. the "graphic designer". The process has begun to resolve this scam. Attorney General, Sheriff's Dept., Delray Beach media, Cape Cod Country clubs, and our company's legal dept. have been brought in. As well as all other legal means and measures Online you sometimes don't know whose telling the truth. But having the same thing happen to our Co. as it has happened to other ones, leaves no choice but to do all that is possible to expose this fraud. |

Let no mistake be made; Advanced Media Publications is a fraud. |

There is absolutely no doubt that this company is a scam. Contacted a friend of mine in MA. This person was told that they would have a prime spot in this complimentary magazine. A sponsership spot they were told by Tom Moorhead. There is a Mark Larson and a Janice James, also working the phones of fraud. The little leaders of this pack of rats are Charles O'Reilly and Spencer Katy. They will answer to their real names. Have phones in their names. Put their names right on web sites. Very brazen. Very sure that they will not be stopped. But the authorities are edging closer. Oh so closer to putting this ugly preying scam out!!! Advanced Media Publications, LLC out of Delray Beach, FL is a SCAM/FRAUD!!! |

I worked with JW Landscaping personally. I am a homeowner in Mashpee, MA. The gentleman that owns the company, Jefferey Williams, did terrible work, overcharged my husband and I, and actually showed up drunk/intoxicated on the job his last day. He also had charges in our bill that made absolutely no sense. After I paid him, he now will not answer ANY of our calls! I WILL be contacting the necessary organizations to make sure that legal action is taken. I came across this while in the process of filing a complaint about his company. I have never heard of Advanced Media Publications, but I can say that JW Landscaping is certainly in NO position to be critiquing any other company. |

I agreed to an over the phone ad in "yachting luxury lifestyle" publication. The ad was $600.00. I emailed all the artwork as required and when the publication arrived, it looked NOTHING like what I had sent. I called an complained. They agreed that their art department had made a mistake and offered to put my correct ad into another publication for free.
It's been almost a year and I still haven't received a copy of the publication I supposedly was printed in.
This company is obviously a scam. I'll never agree to over the phone marketing/advertising space again.

I don't know if this company is fraudulent or not. However, I do know that I placed an ad in Golf & Leisure Magazine to be distributed in all golf clubs in the Mecklenburg County, NC region almost a year ago and have received no calls on the ad. Also, I called several of the golf shops to see if they carried this publication, and not one person had seen it. I gave them $1000 total and have seen no return on my investment. Needless to say, I will not continue to advertise in this publication. I also do not know about anyone else posting on this page, but I own a very reputable business in my area with an A+ rating with the BBB and excellent reviews online. All I can say is do your research before giving anyone your money, and never give an answer over the phone without something in writing. |
