Advanced Career Technologies ITS, AMERICA'S JOB NETWORK, SEC etc. Scam Alert!!! Potential employees and clients beware! Greenwood Village, Colorado
9th of Nov, 2011 by User944872
As a former employee of Advanced Career Technologies aka: ITS, Americas Job Network, Mckenzie Scott I would like to plead with any and all prospective clients or employees to reconsider doing business with them or any other name they decide to change the company to in the future. Having been behind the scenes I saw first hand the way they do business. Having potential employees take money out of their own pocket to start working with an extremely high turnover rate to never be reimbursed is very unethical in my eyes. But that's just where it starts. Clients pay out hundreds if not thousands of dollars of money they in many cases cannot afford in the hopes this company will find them a new position. This doesn't happen for most clients. They end up in the same place they started in: Unemployed. The only difference being now they are in a very hard financial situation usually due to depleting savings, assets 401k's and credit cards to pay for this service. Within the recruiting department There are unethical practices in place such as discrimination and asking questions to prospective employees that are illegal. I was told when being hired as a recruiter that the sales force was given "hot leads". This was supposedly people that had responded to an ad for the service and had filled out a questionnaire to see if they were a good fit for the service. Sounds great right? Come to find out they own over 200 domains and websites that advertise job postings related to all industries and job functions. These "hot leads" are people who believe they have applied for a job, not applied for a job placement service. The owner and his son both have a convincing story as to why the company has changed it's name due to a consultant telling them it was better to consolidate to make the services easier to understand for clients. But every time new complaints arise online and in the media the company changes it's name and corporate name. I beg of you to do your research as not all companies of this type are scams but i can tell you from first hand experience this company has no ethics from the ground up and still to this day operates illegally when it comes to hiring practices.

I worked for them several years ago. They had or have an office in NJ. How they scam is by posting sites that sound like job recruiters, like recruiting.com or something. The person looking for a job then posts their resume online. The computers of McKensie Scott then cherry picks the resume of high end net earners and sends it to the sales people. The sales people then call the people up for a consultation. The sales people ask all of these questions sounding like a recruiter, then after a 20 minute or longer consultation, the sales person then reveals that he or she is really a head hunter that wants them to pay a super high fee, like $3500 or better.

I will add to this as well. As a former employee we were forced to ask illegal question of our “Potential Employees” such as… Do you have any small children at home??? How Old are you??? They would justify these questions by saying “If they have small children at home then they will never be able to work from home successfully” So basically if you have kids you were out… Then to make matters worse, all of their “Sales” people that work from home and are all paid as 1099 independent contractors were forced to work an assigned schedule using their own equipment and pay their own phone bills, internet etc. This is in direct violation of the IRS laws for 1099 independent contractors.
Recruiters get a commission for every sales person they “hire”. However if these sales people do not work out you have to pay the money back. So basically as a recruiter you have to call these people, convince them to pay their own way to Denver for training, and tell them they will be 1099 contractors that must work an assigned schedule.
So your first couple pay checks will be so, so… then as your sales people jump ship and you have to pay the money back you will get next to nothing… AND payday is on the 8th of the month which is the last day of the month they legally have to pay you. Really!!! Who gets paid on the 8th????
So basically, the services are not good and they treat their people horribly. Here is how they “Market” you to potential employers… They get a hold of a bunch of Fax numbers and blast your unsolicited resume out to everywhere they can. I see their resumes come across my fax machine at least three times a month. And EVERYONES resume looks exactly the same.
DO not work here and do not do business with these people!
