Nature of Activities Causing Complaint: ISP is running an unsolicited "e-marketing" (spamming) campaign targeting legitimate businesses with irrelevant and meaningless solicitations. ISP will not, despite numerous complaints by victims, discontinue the spamming campaigns, despite being an ICANN-approved registrar and ISP. Nature of Spamming Operation Lunarpages.com (aka Add2Net, Inc.) is running or sheltering a massive spamming operation under the name Send2Pro.com. An examination of that website shows it to be rudimentary and hacked together apparently with the sole purpose of enabling the sending en masse of unsolicited e-mails in contravention of US and international legislation. "Send2Pro.com" will spam legitimate businesses with multilingual e-mails (often in French), seemingly without any sensible objective or logic. The source of e-mail addresses is likely purchased e-mail lists, obtained from other spammers. Victims of this spamming operation should never go the the site to "opt out" as this will merely confirm the validity of their e-mail coordinates. Lunarpages.com / Add2Net, Inc. support or other representatives take no action against the offending mails even when the activities are reported to them via ICANN, SpamCop and other anti-spam authorities. Seeking Restitution from the Send2Pro.com Spamming Operation Victims of the spamming operation are encouraged to save copies of the spam as well as their various notices to Lunarpages.com / Add2Net, Inc. regarding the spam and any possible reply they may have received. After numerous complaints to Lunarpages.com it might be prudent to contact ICANN (whois), the Orange County Sheriff's Office, SpamCop (forward Send2Pro.com/Lunarpages.com spam through their reporting service) and the Better Business Bureau of Southern California of which Add2Net, Inc. (aka Lunarpages) is an accredited member. Victims may be entitled to claim monetary damages for time used in handling numerous spam incidents caused by Send2Pro.com/Lunarpages.com. This may be possible in local "small claims courts". There are various resources on the Internet describing the possibilities and how to do this. | I run a number of dedicated servers including one from my home and as have many received a multitude of malicious phishing and spam messages including those from send2pro.com. I have sent abuse reports to Lunarpages from those found coming from their network and have always had a good experience working with their abuse team. I do see the domain Send2Pro.com is currently down, and I have no doubt they are dealing with this account appropriately. |
