I was contacted by Trey from Ad Media Marketing around 9:30AM and had a 30 minute phone interview. He asked normal interview questions and a few random ones such as: what is 4x4, who is the vice president, why are there 365 days in a year, and if a bear starts south turns left and walks east for 1 mile, turns left again and walks north for one mile ending in his original position, what color is the bear? He spoke a lot about the company and the services they provide and informed me that I would be making maps, by taking a screen shot of a google map and drawing lines around certain areas for people to distribute flyers in those areas. I would be paid $10 per hour on a project basis. At the end of the interview he informed me that he was doing other interviews and would call me back later that day to let me know if I want the job or not.
He called me back at 7PM and I missed the call but I called back and there was an answering service that seemed legit, and then Trey answered informing me that they "would like to bring me on board". About 15 minutes later he emailed me examples of maps, my contract agreement, a confidentiality agreement, and payment rates per project agreement. The contracts all kind of said the same thing, asked for my address, signature, and SSN.
I thought that since I had a 30 minute interview actually talking to "Trey" (281-661-7383), I was actually sent contracts that seemed legit (but who am I to know what is real vs fake), he put an address to the company in an email (24044 Cinco Village Center Blvd #100, Katy TX, 77494), and had a confidentiality agreement at the end of his email (which I probably just violated).
Instead of relying on my hopes of successfully obtaining a decent-paying-stay-at-home-job, I searched for the company online because I would rather be safe than sorry! I found many reviews of different positions, flyer distributor, and someone that took pictures of pre-distributed flyers, people who did the work and never got paid. One reviewer mentioned that he was contacted by Trey at Ad Media Marketing and that is just too close for comfort. So that lead me to believe this job is a scam. So stay away from Trey at Ad Media Marketing. |
