ACC Loans Southern Financial Credit Scammed by this company!! Lafayette, Louisiana
25th of May, 2011 by User313770
ACC Loans / Southern Financial Credit (for some reason they have aliases) scammed me out of thousands. This joker of a company preys on the disadvantaged or people in a tight spot who are desperate enough to fall into this company's deception. A few years ago my paid for car's transmission went out, and I was forced to purchase another one very quickly, and as a young woman, I really had almost no credit. I had to buy a 4 year old car (Honda Civic) from Hot Wills in Broussard, LA, which is about the same calibur and type as one of those decrepit rent to own places you find by the railroad tracks.
I unwittingly signed an agreement with ACC Loans/ Southern Financial to finance this car. This 'loan company' also does the pay day loans, which themselves are the epitomy of screwing low income people out of their hard earned money, and these folks were right around those same railroad tracks as the 'car dealership'. They ('loan' company) charged me $400 per month for a 4 year old car, and charged TWENTY SEVEN PERCENT interest. Which should be illegal in and of itself. They (Hot Wills) priced the car at $4,500 more than it was worth (they charged me $12K). I had to be able to get to work and home, and so I fell into their scam and lies. The car was totaled a year later, insurance paid ACC Loans/ Southern Financial for the value of the car, which was almost $8K. With all of the payments I'd made thus far, I'd paid the loan company about $4700, plus the $2500 I'd put down initially on the car. This joke of a loan company then wanted all the interest they WOULD have made on me, though, had I continued to finance the car !! They wanted MORE money on a totaled car that I would never see again. They threatned to sue me, I had a small baby, so I paid them even more money, a little each month, as agreed upon. Over the next year and a half, I paid them ANOTHER $5000.00. Now, they are saying that I'm not done, that they now want 'attorney's fees', and more interest, which they've been charging me on all this time I've been paying them monthly. They've already gotten almost $20,000 on a 6 year old Civic, and they want to extort all of the money they possibly can from a young woman with a small child. It is sad, and the greed shown in this case illustrates the evil still alive and well in our world today. I'm meeting with my attorney tomorrow to discuss my options. I am simply exhausted from giving these creeps and scam artists all of my money. Please people, stay away from these companies : Hot Wills Motors in South LA and also the ACC Loans/ Southern Financial place. They want all of the money you work so hard to earn for yourselves and your families. Take the time and the trouble to seek out reputable businesses, who do not need to scam people in order to line their own pockets.
