Able & Ready comes to your house to repair appliances - charge a $80 "estimate fee" and in my case, decided that my Kitchenaid refrigerator needed a new water valve for the ice maker which wasn't working. Of course they didn't have it and had to order it.They scheduled an appointment for several days later between 8AM and 12 PM, and promised to call that morning to narrow down the window when they'd appear. At 8:55 AM they called to say they'd be there between 9 and 12. (Nice narrowing!) In fact they showed at 2:30 PM. The tech seemed competent, put in the new valve, charged a total of $241 for the part and labor and said it would be making ice within 24 hours. Of course it didn't. No ice. I called back and they said they couldn't come back for four days - but promised that they'd show up Friday between 12 noon and 3 PM. At 2:55 PM I called to ask where they were. They said they "thought" the tech was on the way, and that if he hadn't arrived by 4 PM I should call back. What they didn't tell me is that 4 PM they close. My call was routed to a voicemail box that was full. They never showed up. They never called. And they don't work weekends. Avoid these jerks at all cost. And if Kitchenaid recommends them to you, tell them they're unreliable and you want someone else.
