I was in the market for a 2003 Lincoln Town Car, so I found an individual on cars.com who claimed to be a dealer who resided in an Arlington, VA apartment building, with CARFAX vehicle history report in hand I went on my way to view what could possibly be my dream vehicle at a decent price. 2003 Lincoln Town Car black 210,000 /mi. priced at $4,800. After taking the car on dual test drives it was concluded to be purchased given the CARFAX was decent and it apparently ran well with the exclusion of the power steering, air conditioning noise, slight fade in radio reception, along with a few minor cosmetic issues such as emblems, engine cover, upper trunk carpet, and drivers door pieces missing, stuff that's expected at 210,000 miles. It wasn't the things that we did see but the things we did not see and the CARFAX report had no inkling of. I asked Abdelhakim about the air suspension and if the car had been in any accident in his tenure with the car I'm his words he said "never been in any accidents" and regarding the air suspension " you can hear it go vroom every time you start the car", per taking the car to a local mechanic there was no air suspension it had been coiled over with bad coils and as for never being in any accidents the mechanic was astonished to find a welded on front and rear end not original to the car. Not to mention it had been leaking on the interior for some time which I was naive to when I purchased it due to it being garage kept. The whole passengers side footwell of the car would fill with water after a rain. Which I did not find out until I got in the back seat to clean the car since I am the only one driving it. Lake Lincoln was so full of water after a rain a wet and dry vac had to be enlisted to retrieve all the water and it stays damp to this day. The car also had electrical problems of some sort. The car had so much damage that was undetected by CARFAX, and the untrained eye to buying used cars. Bottom line NO ONE should BUY from ABDEL RHANY, he should be avoided at all costs for the sheer fact of lying to be an automotive dealer. |
