| Chuck from ABC Construction is a very jovial man with a great website (just try calling the office number or fax). the address is just a mailbox, not an office. he conned us. we gave an $8,500 deposit for a kitchen. he said it would take 3 weeks. he worked 6 days in the first 2 weeks and demolished our kitchen. he left all the debris and trash in our backyard and disconnected electricity to our garage. he stopped showing up. he won't answer any calls, texts, or emails. I'm filing a police report shortly. do NOT even think of hiring him. By this time he may already have a different company name in which case you would be screwed. i called the tile places he said he worked with, one has no idea who he is, the other has bounced checks from him. i called Fabuwood (the cabinet company he claims to work with) and they have no record of him. i'm about to file a police report, but to the others out there who were screwed by him before me, why the hell didn't you track him down and have him stopped by the police, or a lawyer? |

RETRACTION (to my posting on June 28, 2011) REGARDING ABC CONSTRUCTION
Please note that I did receive an email from Chuck Masterson from ABC Construction a few days after he had stopped working on my kitchen. I was paranoid that I was being scammed and prematurely wrote that he "conned" us but in fact the project was delayed due to the fact that I made some changes to the original kitchen plans. We have been in close communication and he is resuming work and will finish my kitchen. My fears were unfounded. After ABC Construction finishes my kitchen I'll put another posting on how it turned out, I fully expect to be a satisfied customer.
BOTTOM LINE: Chuck Masterson from ABC Construction is a legitimate contractor. We just had some issues with communication that have since been ironed out. Please ignore my previous posting about him screwing me, that is not the case. |

| Can you please confirm if you are satisfied with the progress being made? I am getting concerned that I have called repeatedly and voicemail is full on cell phone and business phone. Who conducts business that way? Please also confirm tile place that was quetioning who he was. |

| hi Flipflops12, there have been many delays since the project resumed, but progress is being made. he has missed his own deadlines for installing floors and the cabinets but the bottom line is it looks like the whole kitchen will be done in 1.5 weeks as that is our contractual condition for paying him for the kitchen. the business phone is just another cell phone. i myself have trouble reaching him by phone and the voicemail is often full. he does check texts and emails. good luck. |

HI ALL, CHUCK MASTERSON IS A CON ARTIST AND A THIEF!!! I AM ONE OF HIS VICTIMS AND I AM IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH MANY OTHERS WHO ARE IN THE SAME BOAT. HE HAS CHANGED HIS BUSINESS ADDRESS 4 TIMES AS FAR AS I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO RESEARCH. ALL BUSINESSES HAVE POOR RATINGS (AN F WHICH IS THE LOWEST SCORE) WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.
I FILED A POLICE REPORT AND AM WILL BE TAKING HIM TO COURT. ANOTHER ONE OF HIS VICTIMS WHO HE HAS STOLEN DOWN PAYMENTS FROM, IS IN THE PROCESS OF FILING THEIR POLICE REPORT. ALONG WITH ANOTHER LADY WHO HASN'T HEARD FROM HIM SINCE HER DOWN PAYMENTS WERE GIVEN. WE WILL PREVAIL AND BRING HIM DOWN.

I have read comments above and looked into this. I find it outrageous how others can write false slander on the internet.
I have not only had a few projects completed by ABC but have also referred him to my family. These stories are always a similar scenario when people try to con a contractor and not pay.
Would anyone work for free? Especially when the initial prices are already reduced drastically? If I had an issue, I would handle the situation professionally not by internet slander which could also turn to a legal lawsuit.

| ok guys, i'm the original poster. i wrote that retraction as Chuck required that for him to continue working on my kitchen. he started the demolition on 6/14 and he's still not fully finished. however, he did complete 98% of the work about 2 months ago including all of the cabinets, flooring, and backsplash. as i had a fully functional kitchen i told him he could finish whenever he wanted as i wasn't going to pay him till he was fully completed. despite the fact that he had about 2 full days worth of work left 2 months ago, he's still not finished, all that remains is removal of some debris. so the bottom line is what should have been a 1 month project took him 6 months cause on average he showed up less then 1 day per week and there were a dozen times he said he would come on a day and didn't show up. compared to others I'm fortunate as i have a completed and beautiful kitchen and he charged about 5k less then other contractors, but i received the worst customer service of all time. i can't join any law suits but i wish you all luck. as for you Mike325, there's no slander going on, he's done good work for about 5 clients over the past 5 years and lists them as references so consider yourself blessed, you got lucky as hell. and oddly i feel lucky despite the most stressful summer of my life. |

Chuck Masterson is not a legitimate contractor. We hired him to remodel 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. It took him months to file for the permits and once work started it was done incorrectly and sloppily. He installed a power lam that was 2 inches thinner and 1/2 inch shorter than the plans called for. This is an abridged version of the nightmare he put us through. We fired him and had to hire someone new to fix/complete our project.
@Mike325- we payed him (stupidly) when we did owe him money so my issue with him has nothing to do with payment.
If anyone is interested in hearing the whole story please let me know and I will post it. |
