AA Rite-Way Roofing Install was so bad it had to be completely redone Gresham, Oregon |

My husband and I signed a Euroslate Installation and Purchase Agreement Contract on September 2, 2005. We agreed to pay $32,310 for the installation of a Euroshake Roof to the distributor. The contractor named on the contract was AA Rite-Way Roofing. The first time they installed the Euroshake on our roof the job was completed so poorly we demanded it be redone. In addition to the rows being crooked, the shingle styles being of different styles and colors, the roof vents hoods being galvanized steel instead of a matching color, completely sealing a vent by roofing over it, and too many additional problems to mention, they also installed the roof over slates with no plywood or OBS on roof as required by the product manufacturer. AA Rite-way Roofing removed the old roofing but did not install a new roof. Instead they gave us a bill for the original work and the additional charges for the second roof tear-off. The bill also included the dump charges for the Euroslate we already paid for, taxes and a late fee. Their bill came to $22,535.88 which was in addition to the $32,310 we already paid to the distrubutor.. On a lessor note, I would also like to describe what was in my opinion a total lack of professionalism on the part of AA Rite-way Roofing (additional to the extremely poor workmanship). There was almost never someone on the site that could speak english so it was impossible to tell the workmen to not cook their food on my deck, peer into my windows and use my yard as a toilet (not for urine, they needed a shovel!) They also broke a valuable ceramic windchime, many plants and left the property a mess. |
