So wrong! So very wrong! I was taken advantage of and abused in a very bad way because I am in a rush to move and a woman. This is the worst move I have ever had (out of 22). I am in a hurry to move from TX to CA, so I called 4 companies and received the lowest estimate from A-Team, but they said an in-home estimate was unnecessary even though I told them I had many boxes but wasn't sure how many. As to furniture, I had only one antique church pew, one bird cage, one small card table, one small dresser and one small trunk. There was a huge issue with "Avi" because I had 2 baskets of towels not in a box and a trash can not in a box. "Avi" began yelling at me from the time he arrived. He was 30 minutes early and my friends were 30 minutes late. He yelled at them as well. His helper Ray talked this over with my friends and said it had happened before. After the truck was loaded, he came up and doubled my estimate from $1138 to $3053. "Didn't you read the estimate?', he screamed at me. "Don't you know how to read?", he screamed at me. I refused to pay double and he began to throw my belongings out of the truck. Because I needed to move the next day, I called the company several times and talked to Mary - we settled on a total of $2000 for what he termed "too many boxes". My friends reloaded the truck with Ray. I was so relieved it was done and to be rid of them, I tipped Ray, tipped "Avi" (he refused so I gave the money to Ray), patted "Avi" on the back and said "no hard feelings", and sent my friends to let them out of the gate. At which point "Avi" called the police and cited me for "assault by contact". For patting him on the back and giving him a tip in front of 3 witnesses????? Ray lied to keep his job. I have been trying to resolve this issue with the court but my move has now been indefinitely delayed. I am going to file a plea this morning. I have tried to email/talk to the company so "Avi" would call the court to dismiss the charges . I have emails from Michal apologizing but defending the raised price. I called Dyanna (very nice original move scheduler) and she informed me that "Avi" and Michal are married. I am married as well. I am trying to get back home to CA, my children and my new job. I have been here in TX taking care of my elderly father, but I am stuck here because I cannot plead guilty or no contest to something I did not do! Because I will have to put my items in storage when I get to CA, I want to make sure they are safe and secure and delivered on time (by November 20 if I can get there by then). I want my money back but would prefer to wait until I can receive my items. Please help me. As fast as you can. Thank you. |
