A Allied Service Overcharges and doesn't do the work described. Las Vegas, Nevada |

On April 4th, 2011 I took my 1994 Chevrolet 1500 Pickup to A Allied service center for a clutch repair. On my drive from Elizabeth, CO to the Las Vegas area the master cylinder of the clutch failed. Upon inspection it was spurting fluid in the engine compartment. We had it towed to Larry at A Allied in Las Vegas who assured us he could have it fixed so we could return home the next day. We had come to Las Vegas to pickup a horse we had recently adopted. Larry initially quoted me a price of $981 for replacing the master and the slave cylinders for the truck. I found this extremely high, as did my mechanic back home. Larry told me different parts of the country charge different amounts. I told him I couldn't afford to do both, when I could do it at home for so much cheaper. I approved the shop doing the master cylinder only for $600 since only the master had failed. Curious though I called around and asked some other Las Vegas shops what they would charge for a master/slave replacement. I was quoted $450-600 by three different shops, much different than the $981 orginally quoted. I really just wanted to get home so I let Allied finish the repair. The next morning we went to pick up the truck so we could drive home. We drove approximately 30 miles back to ranch where my trailer and horse were. upon driving in we went to hook up to the horse trailer when the clutch failed again. Openin the hood we found the master cylinder leaking, really spurting, fluid from the exact same place as before. I immediatly called Larry who informed me that I would need to pay to have it towed back to them. I felt this was completly unfair as obviously they did something really wrong to have the clutch fail almost immediatly. Personally I don't think they replaced the master cylinder at all. I think they attempted to repair it but it was done very poorly. Since we couldn't drive it we had to leave it and my trailer in Las Vegas and fly home since my husband and I both had work commitments. This shop refused to work with us at all in getting the truck back to them to honor THEIR warrenty. The last message to me basically said remember you have a nationwide warrenty so take it elsewhere. Upon further internet research this business has an "F" BBB rating and many complaints online. Avoid if at all possbile. I have no idea when I will be able to get my truck, trailer and horse back. |
