I am aware of exactly what your talking about, I bought 1800Wedding, tel no only (prior to Internet) in 1992, for 400, 000 dollars. had a New England only based entertainment booking agency, primarily Boston Cape Cod. I licensed the name the, me being 1800Wedding Inc., from Mass. to a company called Wedding Referral Services Inc. in Ananaheim CA, Donne Kerestic Pres.
If things had gone as promised, we would have licensed, state by state by state zone by zone. Well a guy named Singer came along apparently from 1-800Dentist, with some money, keep in mind, I started out at 24, 000 per year to help, until I found out I was being swindled. When they ran w/ the 30 Mil. I didn't get a warning. The lawyer Fish is a crook.
Now he NEVER owned 1800Wedding, Inc., which was created by me, so I could have 10 to 20 bands out on weekends. I have never even met this Singer guy, who grabbed the 30 million. They had some reasonably good intentions at first as I was told over the telephone that they had spent 4 million at Cisco systems to have it designed. They went down with the dot bomb bubble burst.
I subsequently, spent another 200, 000 on legal fees with Dial-a-Mattress, 1-800Mattress, and they put in about 10 times as much to protect the name, so no scumbags could rip me off again. Nor would I ever license it again. I'm building it with one of the most reputable companies in the world. I've seen the Registry sight which you are referring to, but I'm not the bad guy. My business record is impeccable, to the extent I've been accused of being to honest to be in business. Wait until a new version comes out, nothing to do with my old booking agency, nothing to do on an ownership capacity with Hallmark.
You can even visit one of those "way back machines" to see the old web-site you are referring to. I'm being polite, to one person at a time if necessary. And Wed Chan, ran through crooked hands, their is more honest services to be introduced, and more brain power, so that, clients, our customers and us all make a fair situation, and a better one for all involved. When several reputable people work together, it's called a natural synergy to the extent that everyone wins. You are pretty much on the mark with your ascertations, but with a new honest and the best service EVER in the wedding market on the way, all I can say is sit back and watch.
If you have gotten injured in anyway, even though it would have to be 10 years ago, and you are a vendor, I will give you (depending on who you are and I can ascertain your not a crook, a free position, when the new model comes up) Remember, I spent over a million out of pocket, and a potential 6 million dollar contract, was abandoned without warning. I do believe at one point, or at least I'd like to think that the intentions were noble. Why do I say this, because companies such as 1-800-Flowers etc., are netting close to a billion dollars per year. Therefore nobody, to my knowledge sits down and writes a business plan, with out hope of success. Now the 30 million, I've read about it, that's how I got the name singer. And the lawyer, who emmediately tried to steal my intellectual property, is about the time frame things started getting dirty. That's why I waited 10 years, to make sure they wern't going to sue me. Your right stay away from that biz. You could be a set up for me. But my company has nothing to do with 1800Registry, and they NEVER had the rights they claimed to investors, out of a fight, flight response, they alinged themselves with crooks, and were crooked with me from day one. |
