My situation sounds very similiar to several other i have read on this sight. My wife is in the Army and i needed someone to move me from Orlando, Fl to Fort Hood, Tx. I decided against the army movers cause i heard they were not very good. So i decided to go with a private company. BIG mistake! Sebastian (the "salesman") did his job very well. Made me feel at ease with the contract and provided me with info that i hoped was the truth. In hindsight, never trust a salesman. When the movers did not show up at the pre-schedlued time i called to see where they were and did not get an answer. The next day i finally got in contact with the the movers and was told they would be there the next day. The next day they showed up 4 hours after our scheduled time to pack my stuff. The lead mover was all jacked on energy drinks and was not helpful in any way. When i got to Texas (without my wife because of the 2 day delay i had to pay to fly her to Texas so she could report to her new post) i called and let Yolanda know i had arrived. It took 3 weeks to get my stuff dropped off. When the movers were unpacking everything, i started to notice that almost all of my furniture had been damaged i some way. The subcontracted movers in Texas said they had never seen a pack job so half-a$$ed. TV was scratched on the front face, large dresser was split down the whole side, coffee table dented and scratched, end tables the same thing. Two closet organizers completely broken, entertainment center had the backing ripped off so i can see the wall when i put it in place. The list goes on through every piece of furniture we own. So i made a claim with the proper paperwork to receive compensation for all the damage. Come to find out the crack-head mover in Florida noted that all of my furniture had scratches and dents on it at the time of packing and the paperwork i signed before we left Florida had that included in it. Under no circumstances was i told about this, and i guess even if i was i am not sure i would have understood what he was saying anyway. This move took place last October 2010. I am STILL waiting for my compensation to be sent to me. I am only slated to receive 180 bucks, dont get me started on that either. scam! Please do yourself a huge favor and DO NOT hire this group of hacks and thiefs. They should have thier business license revoked and they should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity. |
