My father rips off senior citizens, I discovered the truth Mothers Day I am Danica daughter of Jared E Shafer who is best known for serving as Las Vegas public guardian from 1979 through 2002. My parents gave me a wonderful life, but at age 40 I learned the beautiful things we enjoyed came at the expense of hard working families who only wanted a break in their old age. While growing up I received gifts consisting of beautiful jewelry and property. When I got married to Anatal Dad gave us valuable downtown Las Vegas commercial property as a wedding gift. I didnt know how father had earned these gifts on his modest salary as a local official in Clark County. When looking back a thoughtful person would have questioned the extravagance. Recently it has come to my attention numerous scam Reports have been posted about the activities of my dad. In addition I found material about fathers activities dating back to 1983. The large volume of material has caused me to investigate the business practices of my father and what I discovered makes me ashamed to be born. My father Jared Shafer has found numerous methods of removing money from seniors, which includes: changing wills, rewriting trusts, delaying court dates until the seniors die, and redoing private estates so family properties would go to us instead of the relatives. Father has told me he is entitled to it all. Ive heard him tell mom the stress of his job is fare compensation. While growing up our house always had something new, a fine watch, jewelry for mom, expensive vacations, and we never had to worry about where our next surprise would come from. Ive talked with 20 families and they have revealed the unpleasant truths, which have haunted me for 10 years. One family I will call the Hilversons were under the protection of my father and Patience Bristol. When Mrs. Hilverson died in 2005 I went to the funeral. In 2011 Danny Hilverson told me he never received the properties and money from his mothers trust. I asked him what happened? He told me ask your father. I could feel Dannys pain and I started to reflect upon my life as Danica. One strong sign, which kept appearing whenever Barry and me had financial trouble, Dad would always bail us out. The funds appeared just like magic. Dads legal activities caused the breakup of my marriage to Anatal. As we grew older family members who used to be close us decided not to associate with my mother and father. All of this came upon me so slow I didnt notice something was wrong. The question of how father accomplished all of this was made very clear when I talked with several attorneys who live in Las Vegas, but have chosen to remain silent for their economic survival. One attorney told me of my father offering him a bribe to alter a court document. Another legal assistant says she witnessed father bribing a judge. Las Vegas property managers have told me how he controls the market for real estate in Las Vegas. All of this is so evil. Dad sense of entitlement is frightening. He will not discuss anything about what has been going on. The only comments I have received is things are the way they are supposed to be, so please mind your business. On this mothers day I want to make a clean break. I want nothing to do with how my parents make their living. I can make it on my own. I hope Barry will follow in my path. Please father in the name of what is good and right, stop robbing from our elder citizens. Let them grow old with the dignity and respect they have earned. I pray for both of you father and mother. Please god forgive me for being born and living as a part of this family.
